pure fun

Tonight we are camping out in a hotel room. Not just any hotel room - a two room suite at one of the newest hotels in town.

We 'won' the room (ie. paid a lot of money for it) at a silent auction this past fall. Time was ticking in order to use this and so we finally decided tonight would be the night. We let each of the children bring a friend and so I'm quite sure we are over the limit of acceptable number of people sleeping in a hotel room, even with two rooms.

We've spent time in the pool and the kids have wandered countless times to the 'library' area to play checkers. The woman at the front desk apparently glares at the kids a lot when she sees them and called them a 'hoard' of kids. She may be onto us.

So - I declared that we must remain in the room after 10:30pm and we watched tv, played Sims on the Playstation, ate a lot of chips and drank way too much pop and finally (because it just isn't a fun night without someone getting in trouble and crying) I made two children cry (thankfully - they were both mine) and then forced them into their beds.

Nonetheless, when we remember tonight - it will be described as pure fun.
