Bits and pieces

tonight - I can promise I won't be as verbose as I have been recently. Verbose - a nice way to say I talk too much.

So the bits and pieces of my day:

K is home for the weekend...and its so nice to have him here and it will be hard to see him leave on Sunday. I'm trying to just enjoy it.

If the wind would stop blowing - I might actually get some more yard work done. K got the sprinklers going and its definitely needed. Planted strawberries yesterday and I'm really hoping they don't dry out. I would love to have some strawberries this year.

Broke my precious gardening knife (nothing like a big thick knife for the garden - better than any other tool) taking grass out of my raised strawberry beds. ugh.

Donkeys are so sweet lately. Little Roan is pretty rambuctious - running all over the place and they are busy communing with the neighbour cows. The calves and Roan will run on either side of the fence with each other and the mamas on both sides will be following closely.

Saw the coolest perennial at a garden centre today. A fernleaf peony. Wow - so showy. Much prettier than a regular peony and more compact. And they also had a columnar crabapple - wow, never seen anything like that either. Very cool. I need to make a point of spending some money there on Sunday when we go back.
