Discovery

Ok - I had a lot of options for this post...Oh that little Shit!! or I knew I should have wrapped the presents! would have worked as well.

The other night, while I worked downstairs, I overheard this from my littlest, M.

"Hey guys!! Hey guys!! you've gotta come see - there's a dollhouse for me and E and a WHOLE BUNCH of other STUFF!!"

and I knew, she'd been in my bedroom closet...

We thought we were doing so good this year, buying presents for the kids long before Christmas to avoid that panicked feeling right before. But what we didn't do, was hide them well enough. And so, I was faced with trying to get the littlest to 1. shut up 2. believe that they were not for her and 3. be surprised on Christmas...

That means I have more shopping to do. @#$^%&%$

M is such an interesting kid. She's a bit of a turd and more than a little sassy and revels in being the 'baby' of the family. She spent some time with a friend of mine, Jen and her little boy Eric a couple days ago. She was so thrilled to see her when Jen picked her up from nursery school that she came running up to her with big open arms. They made a stop at the store to pick up a few things and Jen said she didn't stop talking the entire time she was in the vehicle. She said to her at one point: Your van is a mess. You should clean it up. I don't like fish. When I eat fish, I puke.

And then when I talked to M later that night and asked her about her day with Jen - she recounted everything in detail. 'Yeah, Jen and I, we went to the store to pick some stuff up, and - what's that little kids name? (I reply: umm, Eric?) yeah - Eric. He was there too. And Jen and I...'

She is an old soul.

And old, ornery, nosy, talkative old soul.
