Back to Work

Well...reality is calling and its only a few hours away.

I've had the past couple weeks off and its been really, really nice. Its always hard to leave because your mind is so wrapped up in what's happening at work - but I adjusted easily to it and now I'm left with this bit of a cloud over my head because I'm back to work this evening. Only two evenings this week and then a long weekend so I really shouldn't complain but heck, this is my blog and I'll complain if I want to.

I'm looking forward to the summer months. More than anything - I will enjoy an end to the morning and evening routines. No lunches, homework or rushing off to this activity or that activity. None of it at all!

We have a big project planned for this summer because we are going to be converting our now garage into two bedrooms and an entry. The bedrooms will be for our oldest two; A and J. A is busy sprouting adolescent things (ahem...) and J has a front row seat to all of it. Its time they were split up.

I have to admit, though I think its necessary and probably even a little overdue - I will miss laying in bed and hearing them giggle to each other. I will miss knowing everyone is within a few feet of me. I will miss the days when the fact that they were girl and boy only meant one had girl germs and one had boy germs.

But - a project is a project and we love them! We'll be trying to do this on the most basic budget possible so that always makes it a challenge. We'll farm out the mudding and taping of the drywall but that will be about it. The rest we'll do ourselves. I suppose the idea of a vacation is probably out of the question now?
