just WRITE something already!!

Truly...I don't know what to say.

My life is in that lovely ebb and flow of normal life. Nothing profound. Nothing much uplifting. But - more importantly - nothing painful or difficult. I'm always pretty happy to have what I consider 'blessedly normal days' because for many years they were anything but.

So - since I'm on the vein of grateful:

I'm grateful that I love my husband. I haven't always but I did hold on and it seems I've been rewarded because more often than not now, I look over at him and think 'eh...I could have done worse.' Ok - that was purely for his benefit, because I know he'll read this. I'm grateful he still thinks I'm funny after all these years.

I'm grateful that my son dances ballet. He is strong enough to dance and suffers no teasing from his buddies because of it. I'm grateful for the phone call from the ballet teacher expressing his delight in teaching him and his potential to go far. I'm grateful that he felt comfortable enough with me to sincerely ask to start dance classes two years ago. I'm grateful my husband is completely open to having a son who no longer plays hockey (though that is a logistical thing more than a lack of desire to play it...) but plays soccer and dances.

I'm grateful for a preteen daughter who feels so committed to volunteering with the seniors that she was overcome with tears when she found out the volunteer coordinator had taken a job somewhere else. I'm grateful there was one last opportunity today for her to go there and help with a pie auction. I'm grateful that when an elderly man tipped her a dollar for bringing his pies to his room, she chose to donate that to the church rather than spend it on candy.

So...okay. Maybe I did have something to say. How surprising.
